Welcome to the team Tyler

As the dotcraft team continues to grow, we welcome developer Tyler to the team. In the usual dotcraft tradition we sat down with Tyler to understand more about the man behind the code.

So Tyler, welcome to the team! As you know we like to have a little Q&A, so lets start things off with the big one..Why did you choose to become a developer?

I've always been interested in technology and puzzles - programming feels at times like a puzzle so being a software developer lets me feed into those interests.

What are the challenges you've faced in your career as a developer?
Graduating from university and heading into the workplace is a big jump - fortunately there's plenty of resources to make that jump easier.

Got a good developer joke?

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world: Those who know binary and those who don't.

What is your favourite thing about being a full stack developer?
I enjoy the variety of work that comes with working as a full stack developer, it gives me a good opportunity to work with a wider range of tech than I would otherwise.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?
Machu Picchu

What are you most looking forward to now you are part of the dotcraft team?
I've been here for a couple months now, and I've enjoyed working with technologies and systems I didn't have the chance to work with at my previous job. I look forward to continuing to widen the range of tools I get to use in the future.

How do you keep up to date with the latest trends?
A lot of my friends also work in tech and we talk about new things we've seen or encountered. I also have some newsletters emailed to me each morning that I try to read, and when I get time I like to work on side projects.

If you were to describe yourself using the title of a song, what would that be?
"Tyler" by The Toadies

Finally, what question would you like to ask the next new team member?
What's the best meal you've ever had?
