dotcraft is proud to share that its company website has received the Carbon-Conscious Website Accreditation from the Eco-Friendly Web Alliance.
This accreditation recognises websites that are taking active steps to reduce their digital carbon footprint. For dotcraft, it marks an important step in continuing to make more thoughtful, responsible choices, not only in the work delivered for clients, but also in how the agency manages its own digital presence.
The accreditation considers areas such as the use of green energy to power the website, reducing unnecessary emissions and taking accountability for any remaining carbon impact through insetting, or offsetting as a last resort, through high-integrity, science-backed projects.
Being a responsible corporate citizen is very important to us at dotcraft. Sustainability and social impact are things we really care about, so we are delighted that our website has been recognised as carbon-conscious.
Jack Lewis, Delivery & Operations Director at dotcraft
This accreditation is a positive step for us and reflects our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our digital presence. Websites and digital platforms are such a big part of everyday life, but their carbon footprint can often be overlooked. We’re proud to be playing a small part in working towards a cleaner, greener internet for everyone."
As part of the accreditation, dotcraft’s website will undergo regular audits by the EcoFriendly Web Alliance to ensure the required standard is maintained. The website is also listed in EFWA’s verification directory.
The Eco-Friendly Web Alliance is an award-winning social enterprise working to create a cleaner, greener internet. With the internet contributing around 3.7% of global emissions, similar to the aviation industry, EFWA’s mission is to help website owners understand and reduce their environmental impact.
EFWA has set a target of supporting one million carbon-conscious websites by 2030, helping both new and existing websites become lower carbon, higher performing and more sustainable.
